True Melting Pot of Styles Produces Great New Sound

beltaine's fire mp3s, songs, and tour schedule

Beltaine's Fire musical style is unlike anything you've heard of before. Fusing traditional Irish and Scottish music with rock, folk, and rap elements, Beltaine's Fire has succeeded in creating a truly unique sound that is still instantly accessible.

The group, consisting of Emcee Lynx (rap vocals, singing), Laura Noel (bass, backup vocals), Chris Darbyshire (drums), and John Dougal (Banjo), is rapidly gaining a loyal fan base in Northern California. They're performing August 30th at Ireland's 32 in San Francisco and have a number of shows scheduled throughout NorCal in the month of September.

What You Missed

Street Dogs @ House of Blues, Hollywood

November 3rd – The Street Dogs were on fire and fired up for their blazing set at the House of Blues opening for the Bouncing Souls. They have a new record out, Fading American Dream, and played several songs from the record such as the sing along “Toby Has a Drinking Problem” and cuts from their other albums like Savin Hill and Back to the World.

Singer Mike McColgan, who used to be the singer for Dropkick Murphys, had the mosh pit crowd swirling from beginning to end, as he was more animated on stage than previous times I’ve seen the band, even doing the mid-air splits after jumping off an amp. The band was well rehearsed and super tight. Their songs are straight ahead fist pumping, anthem flavored punk songs that have hooks galore. These guys were a hard act to follow this night, and I’m sure it will be more of the same in the future.
