The Fillmore is bigger than your average intimate venue, but it holds the charm of an intimate venue. Before the show's started one can hang out in the poster room loungs for some drinks, live music, and marveling at the hundreds of posteres framed all around the walls from hundreds of previous and epic shows at the Fillmore. The Fillmore used to be a ballroom. The walls are a wine sort of color, the ceilings in the hallway are low. Dim yellow glow everywhere. It is among the most "romantic" venues I've been to without feeling a little cheesy like The Great American Music Hall. It's the kind of venue that will automatically become your favorite. There's just something about it.
